Could Botox Be Right for You?

Why is it that when I look in the mirror I never see myself? Confused? I know I am! What I mean is, whenever I feel young and vibrant, I take one quick look in the mirror and reality brings me crashing to the ground. Ageing is not something to be feared by everyone, some people take it in their stride, but if you are like me, then maybe you want to try something that will roll back the years (only until you are ready to be a little older of course)

There are a variety of ointments and beauty therapies such as q10 or other proprietary concoctions that can help to stave off the years. The problem is that most of these are preventative and cannot undo the damage that father time has already done. In circumstances like these, it may be worth considering Botox treatment. Botox is really a half-way-house between beauty creams and cosmetic surgery. While the treatment is more drastic and pricier in the short term, it can lead to long term savings, not to mention the fantastic results that Botox can produce.

You should be aware that, while botox is no where near as invasive as surgery, the procedure still requires a solid level of commitment. Botox treatments involve having a specialist inject controlled amounts of a substance called Botulim type A directly into the muscle groups of the face. This substance numbs the nerve endings in those muscles by blocking nerve impulses to and from that area. This temporarily counteracts the 'wrinkle effect' caused by dynamic movement throughout the muscles. Being honest, there is a level of pain involved in the procedure, but it is very minimal. It will not be agony, but it is something to take into consideration.

You should also keep in mind that Botox injections, and their effects, can last anywhere from three to six months in duration. This is something you should be keenly aware of, because if you do not like the results, you are going to have to stare at that face in the mirror for a few months! Largely, however, most people are delighted with the effects of Botox as it can take years off your appearance when administered properly.

The savings to be had from using Botox will mount up for a number of reasons. Firstly the marketplace is extremely competitive with medical spas, skincare clinics, dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons all vying for your trade. This has resulted in prices being lowered considerably. Secondly, the spiralling costs of anti-ageing creams can really make a dent in your wallet or purse; every new 'crazy cream craze' only causes prices to sky rocket for the consumer. It is common for customers to spend fifty dollars a week on ointments alone.

Botox is not for everyone, and it has to be remembered that you should never undertake a treatment without consulting your doctor first, combined with doing the relevant background checks on the specialist you want to use, but it can save you a substantial amount of money ( and years) in the long run.
